Depending on your signal strength and network congestion, your Carrier network can't support the data demands of Facetime. My3G doesn't increase the speed of the network - it simply tells your iPhone that your connection is using WiFi instead of the 3G connection its actually using. If your Facetime is timing out after 1 minute, try doing the Facetime in a different physical location with better cell tower coverage/Less network congestion.
